Producing an ivy leaf extract containing hederacoside C and alpha -hederin comprising comminuting ivy leaves, steaming the comminuted leaves, extracting the steamed leaves with an extractant and optionally drying the extract, is new. Independent claims are also included for: (1) ivy leaf extract produced as above; (2) medicament comprising the extract. ACTIVITY : Antiinflammatory; Respiratory-Gen.; Antiasthmatic. No biological data given. MECHANISM OF ACTION : beta -Adrenergic receptor ligand.
