Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a metal particle-supported catalyst obtained by supporting and covering metal nanoparticles on a nano-order carrier and having improved catalyst performance and electrical characteristics from the viewpoints of activity improvement, lifetime extension and the like in comparison with a conventional metal particle-supported catalyst, the metal particle-supported catalyst, and a reaction method using the catalyst.SOLUTION: The method of manufacturing the metal particle-supported catalyst includes [1] a process for adding a predetermined one or more metal ions to a first suspension obtained by dispersing a carrier substance containing an ion exchanger and having a primary particle diameter of 1-500 nm in a solvent, and supporting the metal ions on the carrier substance, [2] a process, following the process [1], for supporting metal particles, [3] a process, following the process [2], for desalting a precursor dispersion of the metal particle-supported catalyst obtained in the process [3] for the purpose of removing metal ions not supported on the carrier substance to obtain a metal particle-supported catalyst dispersion, and [4] a process for drying a metal particle-supported catalyst obtained from the metal particle-supported catalyst dispersion of the process [3].
