To produce a sheet form protein-formed material without generating cracks even under a low humidity environment, specially excellent in heat insulation, moisture-holding property, appearance, forming property, physical properties, etc., from an animal-derived protein, a liquid-state material or liquid dispersion of an α-keratose which are not sufficiently utilized, by a simple operation and without using a synthetic resin adhesive, or by using only a small amount even if it is used.
This sheet form protein-formed material is obtained by preparing a dispersion by dispersing a regenerated protein containing a finely prepared α-keratose in an aqueous medium, adding a reducing agent and a completely water soluble substance having >19.0 and <26.0 δ to the dispersion, then adding an alkoxysilane to fiberize the regenerated protein, and then performing a cross-linking reaction of the fiberized, regenerated protein by adding a transglutaminase enzyme, a silane made as sol and an epoxysilane to the fiberized, regenerated protein.
