Abstract:
To provide a multi-stage root type pump which can be installed in a small area, capable of reducing noise and vibration by pulsation and preventing contact between a rotor and an inner surface of a casing even under a severe operational condition.SOLUTION: A multi-stage root type pump 100 includes: a plurality of stages of compression elements having a pair of rotors 121 and 131 rotatable in mutually opposite directions and two rotation shafts 122 and 132 for rotatably supporting the pair of rotors 121 and 131 respectively; a casing 110 provided with a gas suction port 111 and a gas discharge port 113 for storing the compression elements so that the plurality of stages of compression elements are arranged in parallel; and sealing liquid supply mechanisms 112, 114, and 116 for supplying sealing liquid in the casing 110. A movement volume ratio Ris larger than 1 between at least one set of the compression elements adjacent to each other.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
