Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an omnidirectional image acquisition device and an image information providing system with a simple structure which is suitable for continuous use under a hard condition such as over the sea, by using a spherical mirror which is less expensive than a hyperboloidal mirror conventionally used in general.SOLUTION: The omnidirectional image acquisition device comprises: a camera 11 for acquiring an image; a spherical mirror 13 disposed on a surface opposite the lens 12 of the camera 11; a transparent cylinder 14 provided around the camera 11 and the spherical mirror 13; and irregular-reflected-light incidence prevention means 15 having a planar shape which is provided so as to cover the surface of the vicinity of the vertex of the spherical mirror 13.
