Abstract:
An optical recording medium is provided with at least one recording layer, wherein the recording layer contains an oxide of Mn and a metal oxide other than an oxide of Mn. At least portion of the oxide of Mn is present in the form of Mn having a valency of +4, the metal oxide other than an oxide of Mn comprises at least one oxide selected from the group consisting of an oxide of Hf, an oxide of Nb, an oxide of Ta, an oxide of Si, an oxide of Sn and an oxide of Sb, and the track pitch is 0.225 μm or less.
