Abstract:
To provide an optical transmission device which maintains transmission quality by suppressing influences upon the other wavelength bands even if a configuration of a communication wavelength band is changed in multiband transmission.SOLUTION: In an optical network 1, optical transmission devices 10 and 20 comprise: transmission-side selection units 12 and 22 each for selecting a wavelength of a signal to be sent to an optical transmission line and outputting a wavelength multiplex signal; regulators 14 and 24 each for controlling a power level of the wavelength multiplex signal; and controllers 19 and 29 each for controlling the regulators or the transmission-side selection units 12 and 22. The transmission-side selection units 12 and 22 select a wavelength of an optical signal of a second wavelength band different from an existing first wavelength band. When adding or removing the second wavelength band to or from the optical transmission line, the controllers 19 and 29 control power of the wavelength multiplex signal of the second wavelength band at a lower speed than power control of the first wavelength band.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
