Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet detection device which enables a sheet inserted from a sheet supply port in the cover-closed state to smoothly reach a printing mechanism without being caught halfway.SOLUTION: A sheet detection device includes: a lower side sheet guide 31 which is arranged between a sheet supply port 12a to which a sheet 100 is inserted and printing mechanisms 13, 21 performing printing on the sheet 100, and has a lower side guide surface 31a through which the sheet 100 passes; a lower side sheet detection unit 33 which has a first optical sensor 33b for detecting the prescribed position of the sheet 100; an opening 31g which is formed on the lower side guide surface 31a, in which the lower side sheet detection unit 33 is arranged on the inner side, and which exposes the first optical sensor 33b; and a transparent guide cover 35 which is provided on the lower side guide surface 31a, and covers the first boundary position α on the upstream side in the sheet conveyance direction between the lower side sheet detection unit 33 and the opening 31g.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 9
