Abstract:
To appropriately park a vehicle at a registered parking position even if feature points are not detected.SOLUTION: A parking support apparatus comprises an imaging device and a control device. The control device performs parking support control to extract feature points from an imaged image obtained by imaging a region where a driver desires to register a parking position, register the feature points in association with the parking position to register the parking position as a registered parking position, detect, when determining that the feature points can be detected from the imaged image to be acquired from the imaging device in a case where a vehicle is positioned in the vicinity of the registered parking position, the feature points to calculate the registered parking position, and park the vehicle at the registered parking position. The control device erases, when a situation where the feature points are not detected even once from the imaged image in a single parking support control continuously occurs only a predetermined number of times, the feature points from a registration target, newly extracts feature points, which are the same in number as the erased feature points, from the imaged image, and registers the extracted feature points in association with the registered parking position.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 27
