Abstract:
To provide a manual pencil sharpener that sharpens along a pencil's grain.SOLUTION: The pencil sharpener comprises a main body, a cutter portion 12 whose base end portion of the blade is pivotally supported by the main body 11, the cutter portion 12 being rotatable from the first position to the second position and is biased in the direction of the first position, a handle 13 in which one end 13a is pivotally supported by the main body 11 and a rotatable knob 13c is provided above the other end 13b, a cutter portion drive mechanism 14 which gives the cutter portion 12 a driving force for moving the cutter portion 12 from the first position to the second position when the handle 13 is rotated once, and which releases the drive force when the cutter portion 12 is moved to the second position, and pencil holding means which holds the pencil at a position where it can be sharpened by the cutter portion 12, and which rotates the pencil a predetermined angle when the cutter portion 12 is not sharpening the pencil when the handle 13 is rotated once.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
