Abstract:
The invention relates to a polarizing plate and an image display device. The invention provides a polarizing plate with improved crack rasistance in an environment in contact with water. The polarizing plate of this invention contains a polarizer and a functional layer laminated on at least one side of the polarizer, wherein, the value obtained by suberacting the elastic module of the functional layer in the transmission axis direction of the polarizer from the elastic module of the polarizer in the transmission axis direction of the polarizer is -1100MPa or more.
