Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid catalyst composition supporting fine noble metal particles having a high catalytic activity and reusable for oxidation reactions of alcohol compounds or aldehyde compounds.SOLUTION: The catalyst composition of the present invention comprises: polymer-protected nanoparticles including noble metals comprising gold and palladium, and polyvinylpyrrolidone; and a carrier including hydrotalcite supporting the polymer-protected nanoparticles. A manufacturing method of the same is also provided. The present invention also provides a method for manufacturing a carbonyl compound including an oxidation step of oxidizing and converting, in the presence of the catalyst composition, the hydroxyl group of an alcohol compound or aldehyde group of an aldehyde compound into a carbonyl group.
