Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately predict damage location of a tire by using a computer.SOLUTION: In a method for predicting durability of a tire reinforced with a cord material by using a computer, the computer executes an acquisition step S5 of acquiring information about stress and strain to be applied to each of elements of a topping rubber model, and an evaluation step S6 of predicting a damage location. In the acquisition step S5, each of the stress and the strain of each element is decomposed into six components each including a perpendicular component and a shear component in a tire meridian direction, a tire circumferential direction and a tire thickness direction, to calculate the total strain energy from variation history for one turn of the tire. In the evaluation step S6, the damage location is predicted based on the strain energy of all the components.
