Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer which can operate more flexibly by extending the stand-by time in accordance with setting data of printing.SOLUTION: A printer comprises: an interface; printing means which prints an image on a recording medium by discharging ink from a recording head; a capping mechanism which includes a cap for capping an ink discharge surface by being in contact with the ink discharge surface of the recording head; and a controller which executes maintaining processing for maintaining, after printing processing is finished, the state where the recording head is not capped by the cap and the recording head does not discharge ink following printing of the image until the maintenance time elapses, and extending processing for extending the maintenance time when a command is acquired during the maintaining processing and it is determined that the setting data included in the acquired command is made larger than a prescribed capacity.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
