Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer which improves printing quality and production efficiency.SOLUTION: A printer includes: a conveyance section 25 which conveys a sheet S as a recording medium in a conveyance direction; a medium support section 27 which supports the sheet S; a printing section 26 which discharges liquid to the sheet S; a sucking/exhausting mechanism 28 which sucks/exhausts gas from a sucking/exhausting hole provided in the medium support section 27; and a control section 22 which controls the operations of the sucking/exhausting mechanism 28. The control section 22 causes the sucking/exhausting mechanism 28 to perform a sucking operation during the execution of printing in the printing section 26 and causes the sucking/exhausting mechanism 28 to perform an exhausting operation during the stopping of printing in the printing section 26.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
