Abstract:
To provide a printer in which a camera can easily image a tablet from a side part.SOLUTION: A printer 1 comprises: a transport mechanism 20; a camera 40; a rear surface secant detecting part; and a printing part 30. The transport mechanism 20 is a belt-shaped or a drum-shaped transport mechanism for holding a plurality of granular materials 9 arranged along an annular transport path R1 from a rear surface side, and transporting the same along the annular transport path R1. The camera 40 images the granular materials 9 arrived at a prescribed imaging position in an arc-shaped section R11 of the annular transport path R1, from an oblique side part on a front side or a rear side of the transport direction, for acquiring image data including a side surface of the granular material 9. The rear surface secant detecting part detects whether there is a secant on the rear surface of each granular material 9, on the basis of the image data, and if there is the secant, detects an orientation of the secant. The printing part 30 prints an image based on an orientation of the secant detected by the rear surface secant detecting part, on a surface of each granular material 9.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
