Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain a method for producing a flexible thin type absorbent, consisting essentially of a water absorbing polymer without falling off thereof, capable of exhibiting a high level of absorbency and stable (shape retaining properties) in wetting. CONSTITUTION:The objective method for producing an absorbent is characterized by comprising (a) a step for mixing 100 pts.wt. water absorbing polymer with 1-80 pts.wt. synthetic pulp in the presence of 1-40 pts.wt. water, (b) a step for dry mixing the mixture obtained in the step (a) with hydrophilic fiber in an amount of 10-10,000 pts.wt. based on 100 pts.wt. water absorbing polymer, (c) a step for forming the mixture prepared in the step (b) into a web with air and (d) a step for thermally compressing the web to 0.1-1.0g/cm<3> density.
