Abstract:
To provide a proximity sensor that can increase a detectable distance of a detection target made of metal.SOLUTION: A proximity sensor comprises: an oscillator circuit 10 having an oscillation coil 11, which outputs an oscillation signal having an amplitude that is attenuated as a detection target made of metal approaches to the oscillation coil 11; an oscillation control circuit 20 that has a magnetic field detection element 21 whose impedance changes according to a change of intensity of a magnetic field due to an interaction between the detection target and the oscillation coil 11, and that decreases the amplitude of the oscillation signal according to the amount of the change of the impedance of the magnetic field detection element 21; and a determination circuit 30 that determines whether or not the detection target is detected by comparing a signal value corresponding to the amplitude of the oscillation signal outputted from the oscillation control circuit 20 with a prescribed threshold level.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
