PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a silica glass member for hermetic seal of ultraviolet SMD type LED element suitably used for hermetic sealing and transmissive window material of a surface-mount package (SMD) into which an ultraviolet LED radiating ultraviolet light having a wavelength range of 200-350 nm is mounted.SOLUTION: A silica glass member for hermetic seal is constituted by a silica glass substrate integrally formed homogeneously with no internal boundary, and the silica glass substrate has an inner first surface facing an SMD type LED element and an outer second surface corresponding to the first surface. A substrate junction plane for joining to the container outer peripheral junction plane is formed on the outer periphery of the first surface, and a lens protrusion for processing radiation light from an ultraviolet SMD type LED element is formed on the outer second surface corresponding to the first surface.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
