Abstract:
To provide a recording device capable of preventing a first maintenance part and a recording part from interfering each other even when they are moved for performing an origin detecting operation when their positions are undefined.SOLUTION: A recording part 20 has a nozzle surface. A first movement mechanism 31 moves the recording part 20 in a first direction B crossing the nozzle surface, and a second movement mechanism 70 moves a first maintenance part 60 in a second direction A along the nozzle surface. The recording part 20 can move between a recording position for recording on a medium, and a retreat position retreated from the recording position. The first maintenance part 60 can move between a maintenance position for maintaining the nozzle surface, and a retreat position retreated from the maintenance position. When the recording part 20 and the first maintenance part 60 each cannot recognize the self position, a control part retreats the recording part 20 along the first direction B so as to be separated from the first maintenance part 60 side, and then retreats the first maintenance part 60 along the second direction A.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 16
