Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a scandium recovery method capable of efficiently recovering scandium by effectively separating scandium, and uranium and thorium from hydroxides containing uranium and thorium together with scandium.SOLUTION: A scandium recovery method according to the present invention includes: a hydrochloric acid dissolution step S1 of adding hydrochloric acid to hydroxides containing scandium, uranium, and thorium, obtained by neutralizing a leachate prepared by acid leaching of nickel oxide ore, to dissolve the hydroxides to obtain a hydrochloric acid acidic solution; a solvent extraction step S2 of adding a neutral extracting agent to the hydrochloric acid acidic solution to perform solvent extraction; and a scandium recovery step S3 of adding oxalic acid to a raffinate obtained by the solvent extraction to generate an oxalate precipitate containing scandium to recover the scandium.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
