To provide a motor having a permanent magnet to be fixed securely to the rotor under a temperature environment where the motor is used and achieving high reliability at low cost.
The rotor 30 of the motor 10 includes: a rotor core 31 having a through-hole formed at the center of stacked thin core plates 36, a plurality of permanent magnets 32 fixed into a plurality of magnet fixing holes 33 that are arranged in a circumferential row at predetermined intervals on the rotor core 31 to axially penetrate therethrough, and a shaft 11 fitted in the through-hole of the rotor core 31. The rotor 30 also includes nonmagnetic metal cases 37 each having an insertion hole 37c for fitting the permanent magnet 32 therein, and a fixing means which mechanically fixes the cases 37 into the magnet fixing holes 33.
