Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sales system using a recording medium that eliminates inaccuracy of transaction in which the minimum settlement unit is one yen, and a method for refunding a balance applied to the system.SOLUTION: A sales system that includes a POS terminal and a sales machine and sells commodities using a recording medium, and a method for finding a refund amount: have the POS terminal let a user specify a purchase amount within the range of a balance recorded in the recording medium, update the balance of the recording medium using a value obtained by subtracting the specified purchase amount from the balance as a new balance, and calculate the purchasable quantity of a commodity on the basis of the specified purchase amount; have the sales machine sell the commodity to the user within the range of the purchasable quantity of the commodity; have the POS terminal calculate the number of returned pieces of the commodity by subtracting an actual purchase quantity from the purchasable quantity of the commodity, find a refund amount by multiplying the number of returned pieces of the commodity by the unit price of the commodity, and update the balance to a new balance by adding the found refund amount to the updated balance of the recording medium.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
