Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transmission apparatus of a digital signal, in which influence of distortion in a transmission line is compensated on the transmission side while suppressing generation of excess peak power.SOLUTION: The transmission apparatus includes: a mapping unit 12 for mapping a digital signal to be transmitted (unmodulated signal to which predetermined encoding is applied) on an ideal signal point in each predetermined modulation method; a distortion compensation unit 4a and an orthogonal modulation unit 13. The distortion compensation unit 4a includes a pseudo transmission line section 41a simulating a distortion compensation target apparatus on a real transmission line. The pseudo transmission line section 41a includes an input multiplexer (IMUX) filter 45, a saturation maintenance type traveling wave tube amplifier (TWTA) 46a and an output multiplexer (OMUX) filter 47. The saturation maintenance type TWTA 46a has corrected approximation characteristics obtained by approximating nonlinear input/output characteristics of the TWTA on the real transmission line and correcting an output against an input of a saturated output operation point and more on the approximated nonlinear input/output characteristics so as to maintain the output at the saturated output of the saturated output operation point.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
