Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet feeder capable of accurately determining whether to eject a next sheet when detecting a size error, and capable of improving yield without degrading operability of a system on which the sheet feeder is mounted.SOLUTION: In a sheet feeder (10), a feed unit (12F) repeats an operation of pulling out one sheet from a sheet bundle (SHT) at time intervals (ΔI) according to a set value of a sheet length. A carrier unit (27) carries a sheet (SH1) pulled out by the feed unit along a route, a detection unit (TS) detects passing of the sheet through a monitoring location on the route, and a measuring unit (402) measures time (ΔT) required for the sheet to pass through the monitoring location. When a difference between time (ΔP) predicted from the set value of the sheet length and the time (ΔT) measured by the measuring unit deviates from an allowable range (±ΔAC), an estimation unit (403) estimates a position (DST) of a next sheet (SH2) from the difference. A control unit (401) determines whether to eject the next sheet in response to the position.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
