Abstract:

PURPOSE: To seal two ink jet recording heads mounted on the same carriage by a simple mechanism.
CONSTITUTION: A slider 30 having first and second cap members 31, 32 sealing the nozzle orifices of first and second ink jet recording heads 7, 8 whose nozzle orifices are turned downwardly arranged to the upper surface thereof is constituted so that the central part in the longitudinal direction thereof is made rotatable by the revolving shaft 50 crossing the moving direction of the carriage 1 at a right angle and supported by a support member 52 moved up and down accompanied by the movement of the carriage 1. The slider 30 is subjected to seesaw motion around the shaft 50 by the movement of the carriage. By this constitution, two cap members 32, 31 are successively fitted to the recording heads.
