Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the increase of the circuit scale when handling high-resolution image data.SOLUTION: When a PWM signal is generated from image data of a first resolution and a first gradation, a determination is made as to whether an outline is contained in a basic pixel group of a second resolution lower than the first resolution to generate attribute data. A basic pixel group containing an outline is used to generate low-gradation image data of a second gradation lower than the first gradation, and a basic pixel group not containing an outline is used to generate low-resolution image data of a second resolution with the basic pixel group as one pixel, and then the low-gradation image data and the low-resolution image data are stored together with the attribute data. From read-out low-gradation image data, gradation-restored image data of a third gradation higher than the second gradation is generated, referring to the gradation of the surrounding low-resolution image data, and from read-out low-resolution image data, resolution-restored image data is generated by outputting the low-resolution image data plural times according to a read line frequency at the first resolution, and then a PWM signal is generated from the gradation-restored image data and the resolution-restored image data.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
