Abstract:
The invention relates to a thread store with a substantially cylindrical drum (2) for the winding and unwinding of circumferentially laid thread turns (3) and a central thread draw-off eye (4) for the overhead withdrawal of the thread (5) and with a spring-loaded brake surface (8) supported on a withdrawal sliding surface (6) allocated to the draw-off side of the end region (2') of the drum formed by the inside of a truncated cone-shaped jacket-like brake band (9) of flexible material. To improve and especially to regularise thread withdrawal on such a device, the brake band (9) lies flat on a truncated cone-shaped withdrawal sliding surface (6) on the face of the drum. In addition, the truncated cone-shaped brake band is to be spring loaded with elastic damping by means of foam ring.
