Title:
STEEL FOR LOW TEMPERATURE USE FOR WELDING
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3224677
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To produce a steel for low temp. use for welding excellent in toughness in the weld heat-affected zone by preparing a steel having a specified componental compsn. and contg. multiple oxides essentially consisting of Ti and Al and in which the grain size, the number of grains, Ti compositional ratio and Al compositional ratio are specified.
CONSTITUTION: A steel having a compsn. contg., by weight, 0.03 to 0.18% C, ≤0.50% Si, 0.40 to 2.0% Mn, ≤0.02% P, 0.0010 to 0.0050% S, 0.004 to 0.020% Al, 0.005 to 0.025% Ti and 0.0020 to 0.0060% N, and the balance Fe with inevitable impurities and contg. multiple oxides essentially consisting of Ti and Al and in which the grain size is regulated to 0.01 to 1.0μm, the number of grains is regulated to 1×106 to 5×108pieces/mm3, the Ti compositional ratio is regulated to ≥5% and the Al compositional ratio is regulated to ≤95% is prepd. Thus, the steel for low temp. use excellent in toughness in the base metal and weld zone can be obtd.
