Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tether clip and a structure for mounting a pillar garnish, which can restrain a break, due to brittleness, of a tether when the tether is pried in low temperature, and can prevent rotation of the tether relative to the pillar garnish during deployment of a Curtain Shield Airbag (CSA).SOLUTION: In a tether clip 10, a longitudinal direction L of a tether 20 is identical to a longitudinal direction of a pillar garnish 70. A cross section of the tether has a shape like a wide and thin strip at a root portion 22 and an intermediate portion 24 of the tether 20. A long side 30 of the cross section of the tether at the root portion 22 and the intermediate portion 24 is longer than a short side 84 of a garnish hole 80. A long axis 34 of the cross section of the tether at the root portion 22 and the intermediate portion 24 extends in a direction inclined relative to a direction perpendicular to a long axis 86 of the garnish hole. This configuration causes the tether 20 to easily release the load from an edge portion of the garnish hole 80, enabling restraint of the rotation relative to the pillar garnish during deployment of the CSA. A structure 2 for mounting the pillar garnish, which includes the tether clip achieves the same effect.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
