Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To recover much more electric energy by efficiently converting thermal energy radiated from a heat source where a temperature variation occurs, into electric energy.SOLUTION: A thermoelectric power generation device 6 includes a plurality of thermoelectric power generation units 20 each including one or more thermoelectric power generation modules converting thermal energy into electric energy, and thermoelectric power generation is performed by using thermal energy from a hot slab 15 that is a heat source where temperature variation occurs. The plurality of thermoelectric power generation units 20 are made opposite to the hot slab 15. At least a part of the plurality of thermoelectric power generation units 20 is disposed at a predetermined angle in a horizontal direction in such a manner that, when it opposes the hot slab 15, at a position where the temperature thereof exceeds an allowable temperature of the thermoelectric power generation units 20, a heat flux is reduced to prevent the temperature from exceeding the allowable temperature. By adding the angle, an installation area is decreased rather than the case where the thermoelectric power generation units oppose the hot slab, thereby increasing the number of the thermoelectric power generation units 20 just by the decreased area rather than the case where the thermoelectric power generation units oppose the hot slab.
