PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide titanium oxide particles which exhibit a high photocatalytic function even in a visible light region.SOLUTION: There are provided titanium oxide particles which are surface-treated with a silane compound having a hydrocarbon group and have absorption at a wavelength of 450 nm and 750 nm in the ultraviolet visible absorption spectrum, wherein the element ratio Si/Ti on the surface is 0.1 or more and 0.4 or less and the element ratio C/Ti is 0.3 or more and 1.2 or less.SELECTED DRAWING: None
