Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a piston ring dampening an excessive wearing.SOLUTION: A top piston ring used in a ring groove of a piston of an internal combustion engine has a ring main body including an upper side ring surface, a lower side ring surface 17, an outer peripheral ring surface 11 and an inner peripheral ring surface. A first engaging end part 8 forming an aligned part has a finger part 23 extending in a peripheral direction. A second engaging end part 9 has a recess part 28 extending in a peripheral direction. The recess part has a receiving shape and a receiving size for providing to the finger part a slidability and a sealing characteristic. The recess part is divided into a base end part 46 and a far end part 47 in a peripheral direction, the finger part is also divided into a base end part and a far end part in a peripheral direction, the base end part of the recess part is opened against the outer peripheral ring surface and the lower ring surface, the far end part of the recess part is opened against the outer peripheral ring surface, the lower side ring surface and the upper side ring surface. The base end part of the finger part is at least partially aligned with the outer peripheral ring surface, the lower side ring surface and the upper side ring surface, the far end part of the finger part is aligned with the outer peripheral ring surface and the lower side ring surface.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 10
