Abstract:
PURPOSE: To prevent the oxidation of inner general steel, prevent the generation of rust, and reduce the production cost of a color picture tube by chrome plating general steel whose surface if oxidized so as to form an inner beam shielding plate.
CONSTITUTION: General steel 6, whose surface is oxidized, is chrome plated and the surface thereof is covered by a chrome-plating film 7 so as to form a inner beam shielding plate. The film 7 on the surface prevents the rust of the steel 6. It is possible to prevent adequately the rust of the steel 6, as plating can be so uniformly performed on the surface as to form the film 7 uniformly. As the folding working and the cutting working of the inner beam shielding plate have equivalent workability to conventional SUS material, it is possible to use conventional die working. Thereby it is possible to reduce the production cost of a color picture tube as much as its material is made lower than before.
