Abstract:
To realize a cooling structure applicable to a configuration in which a rotary electric machine of relatively high output is disposed inside of an accommodation member together with a power switching element, a smoothing capacitor, etc.SOLUTION: A vehicle drive device includes: a rotary electric machine; an accommodation member forming an accommodation chamber in which the rotary electric machine is accommodated; a cover member which is coupled to one end side of the accommodation member in an axial direction and opposed to the rotary electric machine in the axial direction; a power switching element and a smoothing capacitor which are disposed between the cover member and the rotary electric machine in the axial direction; and a cooling structure. The cooling structure includes: a cooling water channel which is formed in the cover member and includes an inlet and an outlet communicating to a supply source of cooling water, and in which cooling water for cooling at least any one of the power switching element and the smoothing capacitor passes; a bypass passage communicating to the supply source; and a connection passage of which one end is connected to the bypass passage and the other end is connected between the inlet and the outlet in the cooling water channel.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
