Abstract:
To improve accuracy of detecting a line of sight while maintaining display image quality.SOLUTION: A virtual image display device 110 comprises an image light generation device 41, an infrared light emitting device 31, an infrared light receiving device 33, a first light guide optical system 50, and a second light guide optical system 58. The first light guide optical system has a first light guide member 50a, a first incident-side diffraction element 50b, and a first emission-side diffraction element 50c. The second light guide optical system has a second light guide member 59a, a second incident-side diffraction element 59b, and a second emission-side diffraction element 59c. Image light FL is emitted toward an eye position EP through the diffraction element 50b, light guide member 50a, and diffraction element 50c in this order. Infrared light SL is emitted toward the eye position EP through the diffraction element 59b, light guide member 59a, and diffraction element 59c in this order. Infrared light DL is emitted toward the light receiving device 33 through the diffraction element 59c, light guide member 59a, and diffraction element 59b in this order. A maximum value of an angle α formed by a normal line NL and the infrared light DL is larger than a maximum value of an angle β formed by the normal line NL and the image light FL.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
