Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve an anti-bending force of a pump housing constituting a water pump without increasing its weight or its cost.SOLUTION: A rotating shaft 25 of a water pump 10 is rotated and driven by a belt 19 through a pulley 13. Due to this fact, a tension force of the belt 19 acts against a pump housing 23 as a bending force through the rotating shaft 25. Then, a location of the acting direction (a direction of F1) of the bending force at the outer peripheral part of the pump housing 23 is formed with a leakage accumulative part 41 for accumulating cooling water passed through seal means and a location opposite to the acting direction of the bending force is formed with a steam diffusion passage 43. Since the leakage accumulative part 41 and the steam diffusion passage 43 are formed at ribs 40, 42, an anti-bending strength of the pump housing 23 is improved.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
