Abstract:
This invention provides 1,1-bis(4-hydroxyphenyl)-1-phenylethane which
is in a crystal form characterized by an X-ray diffraction pattern having a sharp
and strong peak at 16.4°, three sharp and medium intensity peaks respectively
at 13° to 16° and 17° to 20.8°, and at least three medium
intensity peaks at 22° to 23° in diffraction angle (2θ) by X-ray
diffractometry with Cu-Kα rays. The 1,1-bis(4-hydroxyphenyl)-1-phenylethane
can impart storage stability of a developed color image and an uncolored part
against heat, water and the like and low-energy color developing properties
adaptable to high-speed color development.
