Abstract:
Novel compounds represented by formula (II) are disclosed. They can be easily converted into a fragment corresponding to ring A to be used in a process for binding a fragment corresponding to ring A to fragments corresponding to rings C and D by the oxidative cleavage of the C7-C8 bond according to a known method. The novel compounds of formula (II) can be obtained by allylic oxidation of the compound of formula (I) to directly introduce one oxygen-functional group into C1-position.
