Abstract:
The present invention discloses 2-hydroxyethyl methyl terephthalate and a preparation method therefor. The preparation method mainly comprises: subjecting a recycled polyester to alcoholysis to obtain an aqueous 2-hydroxyethyl methyl terephthalate solution; then heating the aqueous solution, adding activated carbon for adsorption, and filtering same to remove activated carbon so as to obtain a filtrate; and finally cooling the filtrate to 2-10°C for 1.0-5.0 hours, and crystallizing, filtering and drying same to obtain purified 2-hydroxyethyl methyl terephthalate having an N content of 500 ppm or less. A polyester further prepared from 2-hydroxyethyl methyl terephthalate of the present invention has good hue and heat resistance.
