Abstract:

A 2D-code generation method characterized by including the following: obtaining a data block containing first data codewords that contain first information and error-correction codewords that can detect and correct errors in the first data codewords; obtaining a post-replacement data block by replacing part of the aforementioned data block with second data codewords that contain second information; and generating a 2D code on the basis of said post-replacement data block. Also, a 2D-code reading method characterized by including the following: reading the aforementioned 2D code; extracting the second data codewords from a prescribed position in the post-replacement data block and obtaining the second information from said second data codewords; and obtaining the first data codewords on the basis of the post-replacement data block and obtaining the first information from said first data codewords.
