Abstract:

The purpose of the present invention is to provide a radio relay device which has low propagation delay in radio communication with terminal devices including IoT-oriented devices in 5G mobile communication and the like, is capable of simultaneously connecting to many terminal devices in a wide area and performing high-speed communication, enables stable construction over a wide area of a three-dimensional network having a large system capacity per unit area, and results in little impact on radio wave resources. The radio relay device is provided with: a floating body having a radio relay station thereon and being controlled autonomously or from the outside so as to be positioned in an airspace located at an altitude of 100 [km] or less; an optical communication unit for optically communicating with an optical communication counterpart via an optical antenna device which can be controlled to change the direction of an outward directional beam; an information acquisition unit having a radio relay station therein and which acquires light beam control information and/or information regarding the reception sensitivity of the optical communication unit; and a beam control unit for controlling the directional beam of the optical antenna device on the basis of the information acquired by the information acquisition unit.
