Abstract:
An abrasive stick (10) according to examples 1 and 2 is for grinding a grinding surface (S) of a workpiece (W) by pressing a tip end part (17) thereof against the grinding surface (S). The abrasive stick (10) according to examples 1 and 2 comprises inorganic long fibers (15) and a resin (16) that is impregnated in the inorganic long fibers (15) and cured. The inorganic long fibers (15) comprise 80-90 wt% of an alumina component and 20-10 wt% of a silica component. The crystal structure of the inorganic long fibers (15) includes intermediate alumina. The silica component is in a non-crystalline state. The BET specific surface area of the inorganic long fibers (15) is not more than 30 m2/g.
