An absorbent article (1) that has a length direction (X) and a lateral direction (Y) that is orthogonal to the length direction (X). A pair of leak prevention cuffs (3) that extend in the length direction (X) are provided to a skin-facing surface. Each leak prevention cuff (3) has a base end part (31), a free end part (32), and a bending part (35) that extends in the length direction (X) between the base end part (31) and the free end part (32). Each leak prevention cuff (3) is divided into a lower part (3A) that is between the base end part (31) and the bending part (35) and an outer protruding part (3B) that is between the bending part (35) and the free end part (32). The outer protruding part (3B) has a plurality of elastic members (37) that extend in the length direction (X). Under natural conditions, the lateral width of a length direction center region of the outer protruding part (3B) is shorter than the lateral width of a length direction forward region and a length direction rearward region. The elastic members (37) are arranged such that fixed portions of adjacent elastic members (37) are parallel to each other with gaps that run along the lateral direction (Y) therebetween.
