Abstract:
An absorbent for a planar polycyclic aromatic compound which comprises a composition comprising a silica type compound and, carried thereon, a porphyrin, an azaporphyrin, or a metal complex thereof in an amount of 14 to 50 wt % relative to the composition, or a composition comprising an organic synthetic polymer and, carried thereon, a porphyrin, an azaporphyrin, or a metal complex thereof in an amount of 10 wt % or more relative to the composition; and a method for removing a planar polycyclic aromatic compound using said absorbent.
