Abstract:
According to an embodiment, this access control device comprises a first communication interface, a second communication interface, and a processor. The first communication interface communicates with a key device having key identification information. The second communication interface communicates with a pre-registered confirmation device. The processor acquires an identifier serving as key identification information from a key device which communicates using the first communication interface, and a biological authentication result from confirmation, with biological information, of whether a user of the key device has access rights for a security device. If the key identification information of the key device matches key identification information of a legitimate key and the biological authentication result is an authentication failure, the processor uses the second communication interface to transmit, to a confirmation device associated with the key device, a confirmation request signal requesting access permission confirmation, and permits access to the security device if a confirmation response signal indicating access permission is received from the confirmation device in response to the confirmation request signal.
