Abstract:
The present application provides an access method and apparatus which relate to the technical field of wireless communications. In the method, a terminal device receives system information of a cell from an access network device, wherein the system information comprises the position information of an area; the area is an area where the terminal device is allowed to access; the area is within the coverage of the cell and can be less than the coverage of the cell; when the area is a circle, the position information of the area comprises the coordinate information of the center of the circle and the radius information of the circle; if a distance between the terminal device and the coordinates of the circle indicated by the coordinate information of the center is greater than a radius indicated by the radius information, the terminal device is located outside the area; when the area is a rectangle, the information of the area comprises the coordinate information of at least three vertices of the rectangle; the terminal device can determine, on the basis of the position information thereof, whether the terminal device is located within the area; when the terminal device is located within the area, the terminal device sends message 1 or message A to the access network device. According to the present application, the communication performance in a specific area can be improved.
