Abstract:

An accounting system having a simple configuration and capable of lessening the burden on the user in a vehicle. A vehicle-mounted device (30) mounted in a vehicle founds the position of the vehicle (32) by means of GPS signals sent from GPS satellites (20, 22, 24), and transmits a signal representing the position to a general center (40) through ground wave communication. The general center (40) performs accounting (operation) for the relevant region based on the position of the vehicle (32), and transmits the results to the device (30). The device (30) receives a charge by means of a prepaid card or an IC card according to the accounting results.
