An acoustic wave probe having: a backing material (1); a plurality of inorganic piezoelectric elements (2) arranged upon the surface of the backing material (1); an acoustic matching layer (9) arranged upon the plurality of inorganic piezoelectric elements (2); and a plurality of organic piezoelectric elements (5) arranged upon the acoustic matching layer (9). The plurality of organic piezoelectric elements (5) have an organic piezoelectric body (51) formed having a thickness of 1-120 µm.
