Abstract:
[Problem] To provide: an acrylic resin emulsion from which a coating film having transparency, water resistance, salt water resistance, and water repellency can be produced; a method for producing said acrylic resin emulsion; and a coating composition. [Solution] An acrylic resin emulsion contains: an acrylic resin which is a polymer of (A) 20-80 parts by mass of a polymerizable group-containing triorganosilyl ester monomer, (B) 20-80 parts by mass of a (meth)acrylic acid alkyl ester monomer having no functional group; (C) 0-60 parts by mass of a polymerizable group- and functional group-containing monomer other than the components (A) and (B) (where, the total of the components (A)-(C) is 100 parts by mass); (D) a polymer emulsifier which has a number average molecular weight of 1,000 or more and the content of which is 5-70 parts by mass with respect to 100 parts by mass of the total of the components (A)-(C); and water.
